Breast cancer treatment and research is a significant area of focus for us at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. For more than 10 years, our team of breast cancer specialists, including physicians, nurses, physicists, radiation therapists and dosimetrists, has cared for hundreds of people with breast cancer. The team’s experience and expertise are improving treatment for patients. Advances in technology and treatment methods deliver curative doses of radiation while decreasing exposure of the nearby critical organs such as the heart and lungs. Innovative programs to support patients after treatment are helping ease recovery and side effects. In collaboration with the breast program at UF Health, we offer women and men with breast cancer a comprehensive treatment that is customized to achieve the best possible outcome.
